The name says it all. These lemony, garlicky, and perfectly charred brussels sprouts are truly the best you will ever eat. Know someone who doesn’t like Brussels sprouts? Try these and they will definitely change their mind!!
Unlike most kids, I have always loved brussels sprouts. I have distinct memories of my dad making me try them for the first time at the kids table, and telling me that I would be ten times faster after every bite. After a night of running laps around my little house, my love for brussels sprouts was born!
For most of my life, I simply roasted my brussels in the oven at a high temp with some salt and pepper. I honestly find that method super delicious, and equally easy for meal prep. However, after a quick trip to Miami after Christmas, my mind was completely blown. That was the first time I tried skillet brussels, and when I say “tried,” I mean devoured. Right as I hopped off the plane, I was determined to recreate this amazing recipe.
In the kitchen, I knew I didn’t want to make this recipe too complicated, especially since I was planning on making it all. the. time. So, I ended up with this fool-proof recipe, and they are perfect!!
the breakdown…
This recipe really starts off with a scorching hot skillet… that’s the key to a good char. Cast iron skillets are best for this as they get the hottest. With a little oil, the Brussels get super crisp before adding the wine, lemon, honey, and garlic mixture. The wine and lemon are super crucial to enhance the flavor of the sprouts without being too overpowering… but, the honey and garlic are absolutely essential to this recipe. The honey forms a glaze like Brussels sprout without being too sticky, and the garlic… well, it’s garlic… and it’s good!! With some Parm for a final boost of flavor and some almonds for crunch, you have yourself the Best Brussels Sprouts You Will Ever Eat!!
I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do!! Leave me a comment below!

Ingredients
1 12oz bag brussels sprouts, stems trimmed and halved
2 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp white wine
2 tsp honey
2 lemons, juiced
5 garlic cloves, minced
3 tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated
3 tbsp shaved almonds, toasted
Salt and pepper, to taste
Red pepper flakes, to taste
Instructions
- Heat a cast iron skillet with the olive oil over high heat. Once hot, toss in the brussels sprouts and spread out in the skillet. Do not mix the sprouts until one side has a nice char ( 3-5 minutes), then toss them and char the other side (another 2-3 more minutes).
- In a small bowl, whisk together the wine, honey, lemon juice, and garlic.
- After both sides of the Brussels sprouts have a nice char, turn off the heat but leave the Brussels in the hot skillet. Pour in the prepared lemon juice mixture while continually stirring so the garlic does not burn. After about 15 seconds, transfer the sprouts to a bowl. Add the Parmesan, almonds, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- The cast iron skillet is key for a nice crunch. I highly recommend you invest in one, you won’t regret it. However, if you don’t have it, you could also add 3 tbsp breadcrumbs or Panko at the same time as the garlic. This would help achieve a nice crisp.
